Well, we are off to a new year in Art Room 124! Hope your year is starting off great! If you have been following the blog over the years you would know that my school does a school wide theme every year. I design fun T-shirts for all the staff to wear and our large projects and art show relate to that theme as well.  So, after traveling to the beautiful state of Maine I knew right

My 4th graders created these fun and colorful carts for our Tropical Rainforest Unit. Inspiration The traditional oxcart, or carreta,is Costa Rica’s most famous type of craft.  From the mid-nineteenth century, oxcarts were used to transport coffee beans from Costa Rica’s central valley over the mountains to Puntarenas on the Pacific coast, a journey requiring ten to fifteen days.

These are some of my favorite projects all wrapped up into one big thematic unit-The Fair! I found the most adorable book A Fabulous Fair Alphabet by Debra Fraiser This is a MUST have book for your library collection  and if you are a font loving person like I am it will  send you over the moon with all the type faces and images!
