Georgia O'Keeffe Skulls

Georgia would love to adventure around her home in New Mexico and would find various skulls out on her trips through out the desert. These skulls were our inspiration for our paper and model magic skulls. Students folded 9 x 12 paper in half then used pencil to write or print their name.  We then drew a line around their name and students cut (with the paper still folded) along the pencil

Hello there! Finally! I am back to school from the Arctic Freeze and Snowstorms of January. Yep, I taught only 9 days in January and part of February and some classes I have only seen once since Dec 20th! Yikes. Mountain Landscapes

Deep in the country of Mexico lies the Sierra Madre Mountain range.  While preparing for our Fine Arts Festival  -The Mexican Marketplace and Tropical Rainforest-my 5th grade students created these beautiful mountain landscapes that included at least 3 landscape details.  DETAILS such as: horizon line, foreground with trees and plants, middle ground with hills, smaller trees, rivers or

5th grade Winter landscapes with textured trees...

We have been busy creating various winter scenes in our art classroom.  One project that was inspired by my good pal, Ginger, over at Paintbrush Rocket was this beautiful winter landscape. Students first used shades of blues and purples  then added white to created beautiful tints on their paintings. Some students painted stripes and some painted large shapes.
