Georgia would love to adventure around her home in New Mexico and would find various skulls out on her trips through out the desert. These skulls were our inspiration for our paper and model magic skulls. Students folded 9 x 12 paper in half then used pencil to write or print their name.  We then drew a line around their name and students cut (with the paper still folded) along the pencil

My First Grade students created these  Wonderfully Awesome Poppies  inspired by Miss Georgia herself. The students first looked at the colors found in the poppies painting then started right away putting down large brushstrokes and vivid analogous colors of orange and reds.   Step One  Make a dot in the center and pull the paint out to the edge of the paper. I have been using painted paper for a while, it just really adds spectacular color to students work.
